In November, the Danvers Police Department launched a new community safety program in collaboration with DanversCARES. It is an anonymous tip line residents can use by texting or emailing a message directly to the police department. This program allows the user to talk back and forth with the police about a tip while remaining anonymous. It is designed to help the police get information early to prevent community crime and to promote safety. For example, if there is an underage drinking party in your neighborhood, you might want to anonymously text a tip to the police so they can check it out before anyone gets hurt.
Below are documents that detail the program and how it works.
