Have you asked? Talk to Your Teen About Drinking.

This was our very first social marketing campaign designed by parents in Danvers and by a local advisory committee. It ran in April-June 2010 using a variety of paid advertising, earned media, and on-line media, as well as direct mail and other print materials.  It had great success.

The focus is on getting parents to talk to their teens and to raise awareness that teens access alcohol in their own homes. Parents say “It’s not my kid…” But if it isn’t, then whose kid is it? Parents can start a dialogue with their teens about drinking. Research shows that parents have the most influence over their children’s choice to drink or not to drink.

Be aware that teens get alcohol at home. Start the dialogue today. It makes a difference.
