90% of Danvers parents have family dinners with their teens two or more times per week. Do you? Make a dinner reservation with your teen today.
This is the theme of our February ParentsCARES campaign. Research shows that taking time to sit down together for dinner at least twice a week is one way to prevent teens from using alcohol and other drugs. Parents can pick a conversation starter and weave their family rules and expectations into the dialogue, while teens can talk about pressures they are feeling, friends they meet, and new interests they develop. Dinner doesn’t have to be fancy. it just has to be a time when the family gathers to talk, and for parents to show they are interested and care.
