On June 5, 2017, DanversCARES, a community coalition dedicated to supporting youth and families in making healthy decisions, held its annual meeting at the Senior Center in Danvers.
At the event, which included a keynote address by Allison Bauer, JD, LICSW, Director of the Bureau of Substance Abuse Services for the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, the coalition recognized some key contributors, including:
Lahey Health received the Outstanding Community Partner Award, which was accepted by Cynthia Cafasso Donaldson, Vice President, Addison Gilbert Hospital and Lahey Outpatient Center, in Danvers.
Myrna Fearer, columnist for the Danvers Herald received the Outstanding Volunteer Award.
Jamie Boghosian, a Junior at Danvers High School and Ethan West, an 8th grade student at the Holten-Richmond Middle School received Youth Leadership Awards.
Mark Strout, Assistant Principal at Danvers High School, who is retiring at the end of the school year, received special recognition for his on-going involvement with and support of DanversCARES.
“It was a privilege to recognize these organizations and individuals that have made a significant impact on the coalition,” said Peg Sallade, Director, DanversCARES. “Without their contributions and the many others that support DanversCARES we wouldn’t be able to do the work we do to help keep youth and families in Danvers healthy.
